NPDC Model
The NPDC created and refined a model for addressing the learning needs of individual learners. The NPDC model has three components: assessment, implementation, and outcomes. Throughout the assessment, implementation, and outcomes components of the NPDC model, coaching can be used to enhance the implementation of EBPs, increase the effectiveness of assessments, and promote positive outcomes for learners. Each component of the model is explained and links are provided to an assortment of supportive learning materials and resources.
Implementing Evidence-Based Practices for Autistic Students: An Interactive Planning Workshop
In this one-day virtual workshop, participants engage in a process of selecting, planning for and implementing evidence-based practices for students with autism. Content is based on the research-supported framework developed by the National Professional Development Center on Autism (NPDC), which promotes quality programming and the use of evidence-based practices for students with autism.
The strategies and practices shared can be used by your team to address key areas of need for students with autism. Participants will develop a team-based classroom plan for selecting and using these strategies immediately in their classrooms. At the completion of the training, participants will receive 0.8 hours of CEUs.

Real World Application of Evidence-Based Practices for Student Outcomes: Certification in the National Professional Development Center on Autism Model. This interactive training session provides real-world application of evidence-based practices in your setting. The NPDC model is a research-supported framework that promotes the quality of programs and use of evidence-based practices for students with autism. The strategies and practices shared can be used immediately in your setting to support outcomes and IEP goal attainment for students. Participants will develop an action plan for using these strategies and techniques immediately in their classrooms. At the completion of the training, participants will be certified in the NPDC Model and receive 1.6 hours of CEUs.
APERS
The Autism Program Environment Rating Scale (APERS) is designed to assess quality indicators of programs for children and youth with ASD.
The 10 domain, 60+ item instrument is available in two versions:
one for the preschool/elementary grades
one for the middle/high school grades.
The APERS requires certification training to ensure validity, therefore the instrument is not publicly available. This training prepares individuals in using the instrument in their work setting to administer, score and interpret the instrument, and to provide feedback to the school program being assessed.
