MODULE: Naturalistic Intervention
Naturalistic intervention has demonstrated effectiveness with learners with ASD at the early intervention, preschool, elementary, and middle/high school levels and is appropriate for learners of any cognitive level. By definition, naturalistic intervention is used in routines throughout the day to develop skills in the areas of communication (both prelinguistic and linguistic) and social development. Table 1 provides examples of embedding naturalistic intervention throughout the day.
